COMDI - Change Directory
------------------------
BRIEFLY ABOUT THE PROGRAM
=========================
Version: 1.0
Author: Tomas Martin
Date of release : 15th February 1996
Copyright (C) 1996 Tomas Martin, Compusoft International
COMDI is an easy to use hard drive navigator which makes changing directories
much simpler, especially if you have a large hard drive. It does not require
any CD commands, any slashes, you do not even to remember where the directories
are and what their names are. COMDI works across your whole hard drive and
you simply invoke the program from any directory or subdirectory by typing
"change [directory name or partial name]", e.g."change myfile". If there is
just one directory name that matches, the program will automatically change to
the directory, if more than one directory matches, you'll get a scrollable
dialog box containing all matches, alphabetically sorted. Use arrow keys or
your mouse to highlight the path you want to change to and then:
Either hit <Enter>
or doubleclick your mouse button over the highlighted path
It's simple as that!
The first time you execute COMDI the program will create your directory
database. If you create new directory or remove one you will need to re-scan
your hard drive in order to update the directory database. You can update your
directory database with "change /scan" from the command line or just click on
Scan command button. That's all!
INSTALLATION:
There is not much you have to do. Just copy the file CHANGE.EXE to your root
C: directory. The program will do the rest automatically.
And one more thing. If you haven't got the mouse, the TAB key will replace it.
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
=====================
IBM compatible 286 or better
EGA/VGA
512K free conventional memory
DOS 5.0 or better
These are requirements needed for an efficient running of COMDI. That does
not mean that the program will not satisfactorily run under lower
configuration.
THIS PROGRAM IS SHAREWARE, IT IS NOT FREE SOFTWARE.
WHAT IS SHAREWARE
=================
Shareware is an exciting marketing method which allows you to try
top-quality software before you pay the author. With shareware, you cannot
be disappointed spending money for a program that's not right for you.The small
fee you pay to a Shareware distributor does not cover the cost of the program i
tself. If you continue to use the program, you must send the author an
additional payment which may entitle you to technical support, and other
benefits. This is termed Registration. Each evaluation copy is supplied to you
"on approval" for the period of 21 days. After that time you are obliged
either to register the program or stop using it.
Copying or using the program without paying for it, except as
provided above, is a breach of copyright.
Each evaluation copy is fully working, it is not limited in any way and no
features of the registered version have been omitted.
